This year 2010 when the Tamil Nadu common engineering counseling is going ,It seems AICTE gave approval for increasing seat in many colleges. These seat are not taken in account for this counseling which is going now.
So there is a very high possibility that Anna university will contact Tamil Nadu common engineering counseling for some more additional days to fill these seats.....it may be after the regular counseling.. It will  possibly announce  two more days and the marks for each day with timing ...

The same situation happens last year , when the seats provided for SCA was vacant , Anna university called the SC students on the next day of end of counseling and filled the seats..

SO if u don't get good college in regular counseling  then you have another  chance to get good college...
for that i will advise you not to pay the fee till the end of the date given and wait for the next counseling announcement ....I am sure students will get better colleges then what they got now....

TANCA(Tamil Nadu Common Admissions) 2010 counseling date will be available shortly .....It expected to be in 2nd week of this month.

TANCA(Tamil Nadu Common Admissions) 2010 ranking will also be available soon on the university website. The ranking of non-GATE i.e TANCET  will be separate from GATE student ranking ....but it seems the will not give ranking for GATE qualified students .....

The Counselling for Tamil Nadu Common Admissions 2010 is scheduled as given below. Individual communications are being sent to candidates calling them to appear for counselling. Eligible candidates who have applied for Tamil Nadu Common Admissions (TANCA) 2010 may appear for counselling at Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai, Chennai – 25 along with their original certificates for verification, irrespective of the receipt of individual communication.

Candidates are advised to be present One and half hour before the start of the counselling session.

Candidates attending counselling should make an initial payment of Rs.5300/- for General (Rs.1150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) by DD / Cash at the time of counselling at the bank counter available in the counselling centre for registration. The DD should be drawn in favour of The Director (Admissions), Anna University Chennai, payable at Chennai. The initial payment of Rs.5000/- or Rs.1000/- only will be adjusted towards tuition fee at the time of admission in the respective institutions.

Important Note: More number of candidates will be called for counselling than the available seats anticipating absenteeism. Anna University ME admission 2010 is for admission to engineering colleges and departments under anna universitychennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Tiruchirappalli, Anna University Tirunelveli,
and government engineering colleges.
The eligibility for applying is BE/B.Tech and qualified in Gate 2010 or TANCET 2010.
You can apply with any one of these scores ,the council ling will be held separately for both.
The first council ling is for Gate qualified students and then for TANCET students.

The last date for applying is 19 of this month...
